Sune Norup Christensen appointed Chief Commercial Officer at the Port of Helsingborg
On March 1, Sune Norup Christensen assumed the role of Chief Commercial Officer at the Port of Helsingborg. With extensive experience from the maritime industry, he will help develop the Port’s commercial offering and strengthen collaboration with customers and partners.
Sune Norup Christensen most recently served as Chief Commercial Officer at Unifeeder Europe and Americas region. During his career, he has also held senior positions at Copenhagen Malmö Port (CMP) and Svitzer in the UK and Denmark, and previously worked as CFO at Maersk Ltd. in the United Kingdom.
“The maritime industry is something I am truly passionate about. At the same time, the opportunity to help shape the next stage of development for the Port of Helsingborg was very appealing – not least the work on a new container terminal in the region. It is a development that will strengthen the Port’s role in future logistics flows and further reinforce its position as a container specialist,” says Sune Norup Christensen.
A strong position in the region
The Port of Helsingborg plays a key role in regional logistics flows and holds a strong position in both container and ferry operations.
“My first impression is that the Port has a strong and, in many ways, unique position in the region. With our core businesses in containers and ferries, combined with strong connections to both road and rail, the Port has very good conditions for continued development,” says Sune Norup Christensen.
Focus on customers and competitiveness
In his role as Chief Commercial Officer, he will work closely with the Port’s customers and partners to further strengthen the business.
“At the end of the day, it is about having satisfied customers who choose the Port of Helsingborg for their logistics flows. If we can provide the right service and continue developing together with our customers, that will also create the conditions for further growth.”
At the same time, the Port of Helsingborg plays an important role for both regional business and international logistics chains.
“The Port is an important part of the logistics network in the region. To continue contributing to regional development, we must ensure that we operate a commercially strong and long-term sustainable business.”
