Important information to haulage companies – how to avoid waiting time at the Central Gate

We are currently seeing cases where new container drivers are denied access at the Central Gate, even though they believe everything is in place. In most cases, this is due to a missing step in the process regarding access cards and pre-notification. To avoid misunderstandings and unnecessary waiting times, we would like to clarify the requirements.

  1. The haulage company must confirm new drivers in advance
    Before an application for an access card can be processed, the haulage company must confirm that the driver will operate container traffic at the Port of Helsingborg.
    This is done by the transport manager sending an email to HPC; hpc@port.helsingborg.se. The email must include the driver’s first and last name.
    The confirmation must be received by HPC no later than the day before the driver’s first planned passage through the gate.
    Without this confirmation, the application cannot be processed.
  2. The driver must apply for the access card
    The access card is personal. Therefore, the driver must submit the application via the form available on our website: Access card to Centralgate
    The application must be submitted no later than the day before the first transport.
    Please note that the application will not be processed until the haulage company’s confirmation according to point 1 has been received.

Pre-notification is a basic requirement

To operate container traffic at the Port of Helsingborg, an active pre-notification account is required. To the application form
The account can be created by:

  • The driver, or
  • The transport manager / responsible person at the haulage company

Without pre-notification, no access for container traffic can be granted.
