Eimskip and the Port of Helsingborg extend collaboration until 2031

The Port of Helsingborg and Eimskip have signed a new five-year agreement running from January 2027 through December 2031. The agreement covers vessel calls, terminal services and the continued development of warehouse and office facilities within the port area.

The collaboration between Eimskip and the Port of Helsingborg dates back to 2017, when the Icelandic shipping company relocated its weekly call to Helsingborg. The move formed part of Eimskip’s strategy to further optimise cargo flows and strengthen customer service for transports between the Nordic region, the North Atlantic and North America.

“Helsingborg has been Eimskip’s chosen port in Sweden since 2017 and plays an important role in our network connecting the Nordic region, the North Atlantic and North America. This new agreement provides a strong foundation for us to continue developing our services and creating value for our customers in the years ahead.

We are also encouraged by the Port of Helsingborg’s ongoing investments and development initiatives, including the progress towards a new South Container Port, increased focus on efficient customs processes and the implementation of shore power solutions. The new agreement means that Eimskip will continue to develop its operations in Helsingborg in the years ahead. As part of the agreement, a warehouse facility adjacent to the South Harbour will be rebuilt and adapted to Eimskip’s requirements, while nearby office facilities will be modernised.

The agreement also covers vessel calls and stuffing and stripping services.
